I’ve been an English teacher at Whitehouse High School since the 2014-2015 school year. I taught English II and English IV for several years, and now my main focus is English II.
I joined the Whitehouse High School family in the Fall of 2011 when I began my student teaching. The next semester I served as a long-term substitute teacher in Biology and Environmental Science.
In the 2012-2013 school year, I served at WHS as a long term sub in various subjects such as English and Culinary, I taught TAKS remediations, and I was a homebound teacher.
In the 2012-2014 school year, I taught English I at Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler.
I made my way back to WHS for the 2014-2015 school year, and am so thankful to be here still.
I have a handsome and spunky 8-year-old son who keeps me on my toes and reminds me that there’s always something new to learn each day. We are both proud to be Whitehouse Wildcats.
Growing up I always said, “I’ll never be a teacher.” Boy was I wrong! And I’ve never been happier to be wrong. My eyes were opened to the joys of teaching while subbing at a small school many years ago. I am so thankful for the opportunity to meet new students each year and to teach, support, and encourage my students. I cannot imagine doing anything other than teaching, and I’m so proud to be a part of the Whitehouse Wildcat family.
