I started teaching Spanish at WHS in 2019.
In my career I have taught Spanish 1, 2, 3, and 4.
This year I will teach Spanish 2 and Honors Spanish 2.
Starting at age 12, I’ve had many jobs & have learned many skills: cutting grass & doing landscaping, dressing oilfield pumps, making headstones & setting them in cemeteries, doing ranch work & working in a surface mine, remodeling houses, troubleshooting internet & cellular phone issues, playing guitar & drums in live gigs, running live sound & recording in studios, harvesting cotton, selling millwork & building/construction materials, loading & transporting freight, taking x-rays & CT scans, making custom knives, and teaching Spanish. I’m a jack-of-all trades and master of a few things.
My teaching career began in 2013 at Jacksonville HS; from there I moved to Bullard HS; in 2019 I joined Whitehouse HS.
My wife & I married in 2003. We have two boys that we take care of as well as our bilingual dog, various hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies that frequent our garden.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. We study other languages besides Spanish—for instance I study the scriptures in Spanish, German, Russian, and Portuguese—and teach them to our kids. We stay active with martial arts: we practice judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, muay thai, boxing, & kendo. We also enjoy calisthenic resistance training & vinyasa yoga. I make knives & etch metal with one of our boys; I help the other edit & improve stories he writes. Movies & videogames round out the rest of our free time together.
