I started teaching at Whitehouse High School in 2019-2020.
As you can imagine, it was a very interesting year to begin teaching & also cut short due to COVID-19. If anything, starting out my teaching career during these times has made me very resilient & accustomed to supporting students under any circumstances.
This year, I will teach English II Honors & On-level.
This is my 4th year teaching, and I couldn’t be happier with my position. Teaching is truly my calling. I am very passionate about doing all that I can to reach all my students and elicit the greatest amount of growth when it comes to their skills in English Language Arts.
I met my soulmate at TJC in 2015, and we were married on August 31, 2017. We’ve been happily married for 5 years now. My husband is a Whitehouse Wildcat alumni, and we hope that one day our future children will also graduate from this amazing district.
We have several fur-babies that are near & dear to our hearts. We are both animal-lovers.
We have a beautiful, 4-year-old German-Shepherd/Border Collie mix named Violet. Hank is our rescue dog; he is a pit-bull mix with the most beautiful light blue eyes. We also have two cats, Charlie, who looks just like Garfield, & Jack, a handsome tabby.
When I’m not in the classroom, my hobbies include reading novels, going to my kickboxing classes, painting at Pinot’s Palette with friends, & going on hikes with my husband and our two dogs. I love the outdoors, and since my classroom has no windows, I decorated it with a “nature” theme in mind. If you ever see my classroom, you will see blue light covers on the ceiling to resemble the sky, greenery over every bulletin board, and a paper tree with a clothesline for hanging student work.
